I had the pleasure of returning to Tourterelle in Middlebury, Vermont for a very special Bar Mitzvah!
I always love being back at Tourterelle. Lily and Thom's wedding was there last fall, and it's been amazing to see Tourterelle flourish no matter which season we're in! It's gorgeous (it has giant sliding glass doors that open to the backyard, lush with gardens and a pond) and the owner, Christine, is a gracious host. (On a personal note, I love Christine because she always makes sure I eat lunch/dinner while I'm working-- it's so easy to forget!!)
The level of detail that Bradley's parents put into the celebration was fantastic. Bradley's mother Sara put personal touches on everything-- from the coasters with a neat collage of Bradley as a child, to the fun photo booth that everyone loved.
One of the many appetizers was handmade wood-fired pizza made onsight. It's delicious, and the fire adds a cozy vibe to each party at Tourterelle.
The party-goers were so cute and excited for Bradley.
Bradley's sister and his cousin were eager to pose for me. It was special to see how close all of the cousins were, and how giddy they were to be able to hang out.
The photo booth was a party favorite-- and not just for kids!
It was drizzling, but Tourterelle has some great spots to take family photos even if the weather is less than ideal.
Sara made a lovely speech before dinner. She talked about vacations the family has taken and how many enriching experiences they have had together.
She also talked about how proud the family was of Bradley, and how lucky she felt to be his mother.
The kids didn't mind the rain, and I ran outside to get some quick shots of them enjoying the cool swing just outside of the main doors.
The party really got started after dinner, when the DJ put on some crowd favorites.
It was so clear to me that the family simply enjoyed being together, catching up (one relative came from California!), and enjoying the festivities. I think it's safe to say that Bradley also enjoyed himself...
Congratulations, Bradley! And thank you so much to Sara and Paul for choosing me to be a part of your special day!
