On August 18, I had the immense pleasure of visiting the Tempson Barn in Lyndonville, Vermont for the first time. Upon arrival, I was in awe of the large property and amazing vistas all around us. (I may have gleefully squealed when I pulled in to the driveway.)
Amanda and Ryan's day was full of sentimental touches. One of my favorites was the custom-made handkerchiefs that Amanda had embroidered with thank yous to her parents and aunt. It was clear that Amanda wanted her wedding day to be special for EVERYONE. That says so much about the kind of person Amanda is.
Another favorite aspect of the wedding was that I also noticed how loving both Amanda and Ryan's families were. All day they were asking, "What can I do?" and helping to set up. Amanda's bridesmaids happily helped me arrange items and dresses for photos, and were so much fun to work with! Friends and family made everything perfect for the couple and I loved seeing how involved and willing they were to make the day smooth. This was a family who didn't take each other for granted. They lived their thanks through hugs, kisses, and kind gestures toward one another.
The wedding ceremony itself was extravagant; a long white carpet was rolled out in front of the barn towards the ceremony altar. Then the HUGE barn doors opened and the music changed when Amanda and her father stepped out. It was awe-inspiring, and combined with the incredible view and cute couple, made me feel thankful to be a photographer.
Amanda was glowing all day. My favorite part of the wedding day is the newlywed portrait session. We take a walk together, just the three of us, and they get to enjoy each other's company. I noticed that Amanda and Ryan were very gentle with each other. They spoke softly, soaking in the moment. I love that they seemed so happy-- almost relieved, as if they couldn't have possibly waited another moment-- to be husband and wife.
Amanda and Ryan, thank you so much for a wonderful day. I am so happy for you. The love you share is truly special! Congratulations!
